Noonka was born on a trail, with my dog Rudy by my side and a big idea in my head.

I've always loved being outdoors, but not the tradeoff- the bites, the greasy sprays, the products that never felt quite right on my skin.

With over 17+ years in the beauty industry, from raw materials to R&D to product development, I went on a relentless hunt for something better- a repellent that works, feels good, and fits beautifully into everyday life.

Everything changed when my brother, a science teacher, sent me a New York Times article about nootkatone, a naturally derived compound found in grapefruit rinds and Alaskan cedarwood. Long used in food and fragrance, it had just been registered by the EPA for a different reason- its ability to repel and kill pests like mosquitoes, ticks, fleas, lice, biting flies, and midges.

After a few years of R&D and hundreds of formulations, Noonka was born, a modern, fragrance-forward insect repellent that works beautifully and feels even better.
